Last week we went to some friends house for a tea party and a goat milk soap making party. These friends, the R Family, run the camp that my family went to back in April. The R Family are visiting their grandparents here in Arizona. My Mom and Mrs. R started the soap making process outside because lye can be dangerous, especially around the little kids. The goat milk was frozen in a zip lock bag. Mrs. R crushed it up into the bowl while Mom measured the lye.
We had to stir and mix the lye/milk/oil mixture for a long time with a hand mixer until it became very thick and the oil began tracing.
Then we spooned the thick soap into the molds.
The soap has to set for 21 days in these molds before it’s ready. We made 27 of them.
