My Mommy’s Birthday

Two days ago, (July 24) was my Mommy’s birthday. R & R Cafe happened to be open that day, so my parents decided to have dinner there.

My Dad gave Mom the roses.

My siblings Lydia and Zack are house sitting right now so Emily was my helper behind the scenes at R & R cafe. Emily decorated the table and helped me cook and serve the food. Steven and Molly picked the little bouquets of flowers for the table. And Jacob made dinner for the little girls and kept them out of trouble.

First we started them off with iced water and English tea. Then came gourmet salads for both, then the main dish of chicken tenders and steamed asparagus. For desert we served cream over cubed watermelon at my Mom’s request.

Yes, go try it. It’s the latest hit in our home. It tastes heavenly.

My Grandma and Grandpa Roome gave my Mom this beautiful Polish Pottery tea pot. You will notice we used it to serve the English tea at dinner.

I love you, my Mommy! Happy Birthday!
