R & R Cafe was open yesterday and the Mother’s Day special was barbecued steak.
First, once our customer’s were seated, they were given iced water with lemon. Shortly after, we brought them the Artichoke Appetizer, sold only on Mother’s Day. It comes with melted garlic butter and mayonnaise.
Next came the gourmet green salad with the famous Rasmussen Ranch Dressing.
Meanwhile, Dad the barbecue chef, was grilling the steak. When it was cooked to “medium” it was served with two sides; Wild Rice Pilaf, and Artisan Bread. Iced Raspberry tea was served with the entree.
When asked, “Are we saving any room for dessert tonight?” our customer’s answered, “Absolutely!” and they ordered baked custard. A minute later, we served them this:
The individual ramekins were Grandma’s Mother’s Day gift from Mom. They were both happy to get to use them right away.
This plate of dainties comes with any dessert ordered on Mother’s Day and was a delightful surprise to our customers.
I am so thankful for the mother God gave me. I am also very blessed by her mother, my Grandma Roome.
